HIDE/SEEK is heading to the Tacoma Art Museum!

HIDE/SEEK is now closed after a great run at the Brooklyn Museum, but we are thrilled to say that the show will be moving west for a three month visit to Tacoma Art Museum in Tacoma, Washington.

Open from March 17th – June 10th, 2012, this is HIDE/SEEK’s only West Coast venue and your very last chance to see the historic exhibition (including David Wojnarowicz’s A Fire In My Belly).

“Tacoma Art Museum is excited to be a part of the national discourse. HIDE/SEEK redefines how modern American portraiture is viewed through the lens of gender and sexuality identity,” says Stephanie A. Stebich, Director of Tacoma Art Museum. “This exhibition comes at a time of historic legislation and we have a rich history of presenting compelling programs that spur ideas and dialogue within our community.”

Tacoma Art Museum is making a name for itself as one of the few art institutions in the country willing to openly discuss issues of sexuality and gender. In addition to hosting HIDE/SEEK, TAM is currently working on an exhibition examining the impact of the AIDS epidemic on contemporary American art history to open in the spring of 2014.

If you live in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area, if you live on the West Coast in general, or if just haven’t made it to HIDE/SEEK, go out and support Tacoma Art Museum and this remarkable show. This is your last chance!
